excellent!!
a smaller aperture size -let's say f/11- would have made this better, i guess. it would have brought the whole strawberry in focus and made that -is it sugar?- stand out more.
i know a smaller aperture means a slower shutter speed and it's difficult to avoid camera shake at a speed lower than 1/30 sec. this is why i think you should start considering a tripod more seriously :)

Normally I would not think a red background would work with this kind of subject, but you pulled it off quite nicely. Maybe its the sprinkling of what appears to be sugar.
