This is a simple enough photo with very little thought put into it. I noticed the colours on the buildings, the angle of the road, the really nice blue sky with clouds oriented at an angle to everything else and thought "hey, that could be nice". I think it is, but I could be wrong: let me know!!! (with polariser by the way)
I see what you're saying. I just think the colours and the clouds of the sky that day made the street and it's building look a little special. It made me think of some fishing town on the Northeast of the US actually!! But it's not, it's Limerick and this place has plenty of its own beauty too!
You're right, it is nice. But you forgot to mention the shapes we see in the picture that also contribute: the circle (around the P), the squares and rectangles and especially the triangles (roofs). I made a few small changes to show what I mean.
Very good. I like it. Some body will be able to remove the parking post using Photoshop. And it would be more watchable. May be not. Congratulation. --Eric
