Thanks Les, I have adjusted the exposure and it really works. You are quite right about the photo being kind of "dead" at the moment. With the Exp 1 up I can see a major difference. Thanks for your positive comments. It's appreciated. Willem

If you look at image posted you will see the difference that light and correct exposure can make to an image. You might be able to adjust exposure in Ps and creat a catch light in the eye as at the moment the eye is completly lost and gives the picture no focal point. Otherwise try some fill in flash for bad lighting situations or set centre metering on your camera which should prevent bright backgrounds tricking your camera into under exposing the subject and spot metering can also cause the same problem. Hope this helps.

Hi Teunis, this is one of a species of birds that sit and wait or fly over the water till they see a fish and then dives into the water and catches it. The photo here is of the Giant Kingfisher which is of the same species.
