Thanks for your advice. I understand what you meant by focussing the hyacinths more in the middle, so the background is BLUE all over. I will experiment tomorrow when the weather is good.

These blues are sparkling ! The shallow DOF creates an impressionnist effect that I find very pleasing. Perhpas avoiding the distant background and putting the lens amidst the hyacinths would emphasize that interpretation.
