About A display of how slaves during the civil war decorated the graves of loved ones. This one was inverted into abstract, as I didn't like the original, but I did like it as abstract.

I was just at that spot again yesterday and took a couple pics. The information there, said that this is an African culture ritual. They put a headboard or such, to signify rest in piece. They broke pottery and urns on the graves to release the spirit. This tradition was carried over with some of the slaves that were here.

I don't know how I missed this. This is a very unique image for the treatment of the subject matter. I like what you have done to create a strong impressiomistic abstract. All the elements, colour, light composition and rendering have created an image that demands more than just a quick glance. This needs to be studied and absorbed. Personally, I think this is gallery quality and would make a strong addition to a series on a topic dealing with the lives of Civil War slaves.

Very strange. The meaning behind this, I mean. Must be something more along the lines of real Africa. I think you are probably correct, though, best in abstract.

Thanks for your comments
