You have managed the dof very well to highlight your subject. Even so, the background is so close in color and tone that it doesn't separate very well from the subject. A better choice would have been to tone down the background, either by shading the background in the field or by post processing. That would really punch out the subject and create more visual interest in the flower.

Great clarity and detail. Nice DOF but it does not contrast very well with the subject. Maybe have the sky as a background?

Well framed shot.The large aperture has thrown the background out of focus quite effectively but that particular tone of green is too strong and bright and some of the flower and buds have taken on a greeny hue.Easy to fix in Photoshop.I love orchids too and recently have been taking photos of very little else!Regards Tony
