WOW, Jeff, this is such a wonderful image you have created! Of course first off one sees the vivid colors. I LOVE the lighting, it's warm even though the sky behind the boats is gray! Very nice composition here, and I like the positioning of the boats themselves, being 'out of line', two that are behind the four! Wonderful! I also notice the yellows on the boat on the right side picks up the yellows on the left.

So it was a race. I guess they are using Portsmouth ratings so that they can compete with different type boats. This has more boats, hence the race is apparent. Were you on shore or a pier or in another boat? They say that watching a sailboat race is like watching grass grow, but whoever said that was never on a sailboat jibing in a strong wind!

I like boats, I like racing, I like spinnackers and I like vivid colours, so I definately like this shot, Jeff! Excellent photo! Quite calm weather, but in stead of boring and relaxing, it is really hard work, trying to gain every bit of speed you can muster. The lighting is excellent, as is the composition. Very well done, my friend!

Hi Jeff...... Like Paul says ... downwind-no wind .. like watching paint dry ..huh. But ,none the less .. a great color shot .. Thing about sailboat racing ... no matter what the weather .. the race is "on". Thanks for sharing.

Ah, the downwind leg on a light wind. ::yawn::.
This, however, offers us photogs the best shots because there's so much colorful spinnaker sail deployed. Nice one, Jeff.
