Sorry sorry sorry Kita.
I thought you were in N.Y. ...Can't ask you get to the same spot and take a few paces back now can I?
Re your question:
The public outcry was a propsed aluminium smelter at the mouth of out harbour but I didn't know that when I arrived and just kept finding all this vitriolic graffitti that seemed to be complaining about the existance of the beautiful spit at the harbour mouth.
I'm trying every day at the moment to find get o.k. photos to record the rest of the graffiti.

Fabulous! The moment that will never come again, and the moment that hopefully will be mirrored by tomorrow's. I like it when the light hits the lens and creates flare, and when the shaded portions of the buildings are semi-lit ever so gently. Was this taken from a bridge?

// Kita, you had asked about the plugin (from "waiting")...it's a Photoshop type of plugin that also works with Photoimpact and PhotoSuite. Go to http://www.flamingpear.com
...where they have Melancholytron along with other plugins. Really great quality plugins. They have them downloadable for a free trial period, then it shuts down. After that, if you decide to purchase the plugins, they email you the codes, which will re-activate the plugins forever.

Gorgeous sunset Perfect moment. I too think that maybe the foreground might be a little distracting. But still nice capture

Excellent composition. This steel in front whit the sun on it looks wonderfull, so do the buildings. Stunning city scape. Maybe you should have waited till the sun was totally down, the eye is now drawn to the sun in stead of the city. But that's just a tought.
Greets Tim.

La miniatura mi aveva fatto pensare ad un maniero scozzese!! Vista cosě perň, anche New York puň essere scambiata per un castello medievale, non manca nulla, le torri, i ponti, l'acqua, ci sono pure i re ed i sudditi! ;) Bellissima inquadratura, compresi i tubi metallici in primo piano. Un abbraccio, Max

PS: non sono tornato ancora, ho vari problemi che mi tengono lontano, ma non per molto spero. Ciaooooo!!!

Including the beams is a fine and creative idea. It gives the image a sense of travel and provides the photo with energy.

great landscape; the iron base fits well with high and dark building; good sky too

Hello Kita, it's a splendid shot!! I like it for your choice of the beautiful point of view but also for colours and composition. Excellent moment, the sun position is perfect.
Congratulations.

Now, I don't know much, but I found myself admiring the colours and the foreground plane and then found my eye distracted for a while trying to wotk out if the beam coming towrds you disapearing in the right margin was on the same plane as the beam going away from you disappearing in the right margin.
Perhaps it's aspergers on my part but my eyes seem to need to be reassured that every thing is all right and the apparent sag in the beam is not real but a product of thelense and it joins up with the others.
I must be doing too many night shifts.
I agree with hugo about the moment you've captured.

Beautiful contrast between the urban landscape, with the hard rusty colours of iron, construction and busy life and the softness of the sunset. I like this one a lot! Well done, my compliments.

Cheers,

Hugo

scatto di un soggetto molto sfruttato.

Hi Kita,
The sky and the lighting is beautiful, the composition is good but i am not so sure if i like the foreground or not. Maybe its a bit to prominent and distracting from the wonderful view.
