About San Carlos Borromeo Mission is believed by many to be the most beautiful of all California missions. The construction started in 1770 and it is here that Fr. Serra made his headquarters for his California missionary work, and where he was buried upon his death in 1784. It is located at a beautiful site in Carmel Valley. It fell in disrepair after 1834. Reconstruction began in the 1880's and continues till today.

This is just great!!! The colours, lighting, contrasts and angle... all is very effective, working perfectly together and create a very dramatic expression; very suitable for the subject. Excellent image!!! Thanks for your kind comments, and have a nice time * Regards :)

When ever I visit you I get amazed... I love it, the sky is great and teh missions is very historical... I must say I miss feet of this one a lot... Then I would defenately call it perfect, but I am sure you had a strong reason to left them out...

This is a wondeful shot of a beautiful mission...but there's something about the blurry clouds that doesn't seem to fit.

Beautiful Alex, The sky really add some punch to this view.
The old Assay building is located southwest of Wickenburg, Az at the Vulture Gold Mine. It is just a bunch of old buildings. Cost is $6.00 for seniors. You can spend quite a lot of time there. Don.
