About First outing today for two new pieces of kit: my Nikon 12-24DX wide-angle lens and Arca Swiss B1 ball head. The wide-angle lens was necessary to give prominance to the foreground rocks which were actually quite small. The light was fairly fleeting and only one of the eight shots I took achieved what I was looking for with the light through the clouds and the foam around the rock.

Sam, thanks for your comment. Regarding your question, a bit of both! The clouds blocked out the sun quite regularly and the light reflected off the sea was too harsh at times and then the waves weren't quite in the right place either!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. its really a masterpeice (and nice title!) thanks for sharing! great capture and balance of the lighting --

did you bracket your exposures? is that what you meant by the right light? or just that the rays and clouds kept re-arranging their pattern and brightness due to weather?

Great scene and exposure, but my eye keeps running around the photo, I'm not sure of the subject and dont fix on one thing. I guess the scene itself is the subject but it really doesnt hold me too long.

Hi Barry,

What a pretty photograph this is. Balanced nicely in all ways. Love the 'two circles' both in the sky and water! Nice coloring, you didn't darken it dramatically so there is really good detail in the shadows.

Rays of light are wonderful!
Very well seen and photographed!
EXCELLENT!!
Lori :)
