Yes Lori, fighting the elements counts for a lot more than you are usually given credit for. Sometimes just getting to your position can take the better part of a day and involve some very strenuous exercise. I can imagine that after you climbed down to the rocks that the wind and spray were quite strong. But, La Jolla is the kind of place that entices people to do just these things.

Sure, fighing the elements counts; Take Stephen Bowden's shot. Hysterical laughter is definately another hazard for any photographer....:) And if that is to be considered a technical challange, then so is the danger of tripping on eroded shores....:)
Beautiful setting, Lori, but there's quite a bit of noise in the photo; either because of some dirt on the lens, or because of some serious editing... It makes the contrasts a bit hard, and it also seems that some spots are less in focus than others.... Nonetheless a very nice coastal shot. The sun places the accent on the skyline of the resort in the distance, which works really well. The eroded rocks in the foreground, partially covered by seaweeds create a nice wide approach to the resort. I also like the reflection of the sky in the pools, that forms a nice contrast.
Basically, there's too much to mention, so the title says it all....
A very nice shot, Lori!
Cheers,
Hugo
