Boyne river is very significant in Irish history. Battle of the Boyne at the Boyne river valley, Drogheda-1664, when Protestent king William of Orange defeated Catholic king James. Even now Ulster(N.Ireland) protestents celebrate voiceferously(and vulgurly) the occasion July 12th, to show their contempt for catholics. Rather sad. Fortunately political macaber doesn\'t take away the beauty of the Boyne valley. A beautiful river side walk.
