Excellent Shot!, really impressive... if u use more dof it would be an ordinary picture... keep doing stuff like this!..

wonderful! never mind the dof-ers. your choice gives this depth (ironic, no?). this would be lost with more dof. excellent shot! congrats...

I have a feeling that many of those who say that this image needs more depth of field don't follow their personal taste but rather the macrophotography commandment 'the more DOF the better'.
my first reaction when I opened this picture was to think why the DOF is so shallow,
but soon I realized that this is the strength of the image - in my opinion this is a wonderful picture which is so special because you put the 'rules' aside and trusted your instinct ;-)
was my comment an answer to your question,Todd?...
bye
Kostas

okay, i just read these comment, they're kinda shitty. i mean some just don't understand that some of the most fabulous things in life don't come in auto focus... anyway, it's over their head, it's razor sharp on one plane of focus and that's what makes it cool. blah, the only critical thing, technical thing to do, what i would do is sooo small i didn't even mention it but i guess i will now since we're all being critics... the green top left corner, i'd burn it in make it all black bcz i obviously, looking at my work, dig simple black backgrounds. rock on, todd, youre a star!

i am your neighbor, lend me some suga! anyway, hey ya! i love your work, it's emerging nicely... i love your selective focus, you think youve got it, oh you think youve got, but got it just dont get it at all, nothing is forever, anyway, im done singing, fabulous work, todd, keep 'em coming, i dig it! don't want to meet your daddy, just want you in my caddy. i am just being honest... byeeee

Awesome, man!

thanks for the comments all. i liked the shallow DOF, felt it gave the snowflakes some dimension. Guess, the DOF is a distraction for most. This is exactly why I like this site!

Such a pity... with more dof this could be such a great capture; the details that are to be seen are very nice, also good lighting. I still like it; maybe you can do some more trials, it's really a difficult subject! Thank you for your kind comment. Regards :)
