Lonely. Powerful. Ominous. Good tones. Keep it.

Nice. You probably know Wim Wenders' photographs. You have the same style in some pics.

Thanks all -
This was shot at Bombay Beach in the Salton Sea area.
Mickey,
What can I say woman? You rock with the PS skills and I like your versions much better. I think the one with partial color works for me the best.

Wow neat! Can you share your location? I've shot a lot in similar looking salt marsh locations and would love to see what's at this one. email address in my profile if you don't want to tell the world :)http://www.usefilm.com/image/292329.html#

Yeah Yeah Yeah, Michaelle... I like your versions! And Alissa, it did work better without the poles. Guess I should have looked at the comments before posting my own but sometimes I then get swayed.

Heya, Alisa. You're finding all the cool "ruins" to shoot. I still like your style, lady!

Or if you still want some color...

Alisa,
I love the subject... but would prefer to see the textures rather than the colors. I've attached a Micky-ized version. Going grunge on this one...

I love it. I wish I were close enough to this to try a night shot of it..maybe you should try that. Troy Paiva would love this for his " Lost America" series.

This is a cool photo, hard to explain, but it's like this image has a sort of energy to it or a strangeness that is captivating. I don't know why you would want to take away part of the landscape that is intregal to the subject itself. It's not like this is a classic landscape hindered in it's beauty by manmade intrusions. It might be a cool place to go back to, but you captured image splendidly the first time.......Randy

nice image! What were you doing in El Centro :) just kidding. it looks like a test subject for 1940's atomic bomb tests. very effective. In my opinion the poles are good...emphasize the "nowhere"...close but so far away. good work and it's nice to see another of your photos.

I do hope you shot this in BW! And I agree about the poles. Got it marked on your map? Maybe another shot in spring? :-)

That's a wonderful element, however I don't feel you have caught it's true essences... I find the power poles in the background destracting... I think the object deserves another chance.. : )
