this shot is one of the reasons i should get a tripod!! i love the colors and great timing you got here, one of my favorites!

By all means I use a tripod. %100 of my photos are with a strong sturdy Bogen 3221 tripod. In fact a tripod is more important then a camera, becuase with a tripod I can at least pretend like I am taking a sharp photo.

Shawn,do you use tripod? Since you use so slow shutter,if not, how to keep your camera motionless? Vivien

Thanks for the comments. I don't remember the exposure time. I shoot streams mostly on cloudy mornings so there is low light. I always use a polorizer. I set my f-stop for the depth of field I need. I use velvia which is ISO 50. With all of those factors I can't help but have shutter speeds of several seconds. Usually 4sec to 15sec. I dan't think about bluring the water. I know because of the conditions I choose to photograph streams it is impossible for water not to blur. In fact it is million times harder for me to freeze the motion of water then to blur it.

Perfect shutter speed (do you remember what it was?). The water looks like ice! It may be a springtime photo, but it has a beautiful, cool feel to it.
