About Well, this is my first macro...and it shows! Anyway I took a shot of a dried rose placed on my dark red raw silk scarf. Too much light on the rose top??? Since the flower isn't fresh,it's hard to tell.
Comments and help are welcome.

Yes, too much exposure on the flower, blowing out the details in the subtle white areas. Less exposure would also make you background colors richer and the flower would still stand out.

This viewer can not... but grant full marks for a 'first'

There are solutions for keeping a rose... in all its splendor... but then upon its passing... there are memories...

It may be suggested to use ambient light... to avoid the apparent the apparent 'white - light', and then fiddle with PS... only problem is that the synthetic or artificial light may not bring out the natural reflective properites of the silk...

let's see what others say...
and will await your next trial... which is part of error... which is the learning process for us all!

lovely done Antonella,
but a litle less light in it would be better for me...

Yeah, I do agree, this is not really a macro, but it's nevertheless great: compositon, combination of colours, and the light...yes, a bit harsh...try witha different lighting, fluorescent is a bit to much, I think...

Dear Antonella, for the Macro, sweety you have to come more and more closer ;-) it is so hard to shoot dry flowers, cause they are so dead ;-(
Get closer and change the angle, be careful with the background, less you see it, better it is ;-)

Antonella, I like your composition and the colour of the background. I do find the lighting a bit too harsh, but that's just my personal opinion. I would tone it down a bit.
