YES, there is too much going on in this photo. That is what makes it so unique. I like this shot because there are som many vibrant colors and random lines throughout the picture that it draws attention to the white of the waterfall. All the chaos in the picture just adds to the impact of the main subject. I like to see stuff that deviates from the usual waterfall shot that looks upstream and shows nothing but the water, etc., etc., etc.! The only thing that I don't like is that the waterfall is directly at the center of the shot. It makes the picture look a tad bit stiff. Good shot and props to you for thinking outside of the box on this one...

Hi Daniel, yes I also think the image is too busy...
In forests, it is always difficult to get some 'order' in the composition.
Take a look at the landscape photography of Michael Buselle, he has posted some very nice forest images here.

Yes, I thnk there is too muck going on as well. I think that what you are seeing is why so many of these types of images are shot from stream level..it elliminates a lot of the 'nature'. For instance there are always fallen trees in these scenes but they rarely add anything to the image. The photo is fine, just keep looking for the right spot!
Keep shooting..J

Nice Autumn view. Beautiful tones and good composition.
