Hi all, I am kinda torn with this picture. I like it but I am wondering if its too dark. I did a lot of digital enhancements to get it this way. I happen to like dark pictures. Don't ask why cos I don't know. Maybe because you have to really study it to see the detail. I could really use some feed back on this, good bad or indifferent, because I am thinking about putting it in my store. Thanks Honey
Honey, Maybe instead of placing your highlight at frame center, why not place it at sharpest focus? (I cannot tell with this jpeg if that's the case). I like it now, actually. -Paul
Overall I find this appealing, although there is some loss of detail in the jpeg...not sure how much is seen in a print. The spots Marleen noticed are distractions, but mostly because the light falls off in the most visually detailed areas. My eye travels from the center of the light to the end of the pistil, and instead of seeing detail there, I notice the white spots. That said, I still like this image and think you are really on to something here.
I happen to like dark images too and this concept is really great. There seem to be some bright spots in the back that I can't really make out. So I'm not sure if they mean anything. I do believe that a little more light on the top of the pistil would have made a better image. But like I said: great idea.
