No tricks here Mark. There was a spotlight above the bikes shining on the wall to create this effect. Thanks for commenting.

This is an unusual lighting situation. Light painting, maybe? I like the hard graphic feel.

I love the arc of light here but I think I would crop a little from the left to tighten the composition. thank you for your comment on Dunes. I do take B+W.. Fp4, Hp5 and Kodak Infra red but on this occasion the scan of the colour side messed up the colours and it wouldn't correct to my satisfaction so as I thought it would make a good monochrome I changed it. Regards Marie

This looks a bit softer than the actual print.

I like this shadow on the wall. Atmosphere is there. It's quite soft, No tripod?

Stefan, I considered that, but I did not because to me it adds to the feeling of being alone. You see the bikes here and even around the corner no one seems to be around. I guess its sort of how i felt when taking the photo that infuenced this crop.
I could see your point from a purely strict compositional sense, but that doesnt always rule my choices for cropping.

To me, a very emotional image of loneliness and late night.
I really would crop out the right end (where the wall ends), but it's all a matter of taste.
