Hey, This picture is amazing, i wont be adding any more to your by any technical comments, but commenting on the picture it self, i find it just great, this old architecture looks the same as old Egypt, even the lady, i can swear there is millions on copies of her, with this traditional black dresses for widow?s, is it the same in Italy, no one is doing the same these days accept women from old generation, such a devotion you would never find, these days a widow would look for a husband after few months '' just kidding ''. i just loved everything in your pic, thump up for your photography skills, and two thumps up for your morals taking her permission. :)

Hassan,
Yeah! You see!!! David is right. It's all there in the picture just as it is. I agree with David's comparison between the woman and the buildings. There is a whole story in this image, it's different for everyone, but there it is.

Do another one!

Hi Bianca
Thank you for your replay , yes I understand and feel what you mean about the photo , as I said it's the best comment and let me give you another comment wrote on that photosite just to show you how other peolple think :

David wrote :
This has everything that I like in street photography. A good perspective of the building and a person to add interest. I love her hunched over pose. It's like her age and pose fit so well with the age and condition of the buildings. They are both old and aren't in the same condition they used to be but they are both still there and still stronger than they may appear.

What do you think Bianca ?
Regards ......... ~~ Hassan ~~

Hassan,

This is Bianca. Thanks for the compliments on "surfacing." I'm finding that people love the original better for the very reasons you expressed and that's ok. I can live with both the original and the PS version.

Don't worry about your English, it's my second language as well. You are sooooo lucky to live in Italy. I live in Florida, USA and it's very boring here- especially visually. Not much to take pictures of, no character. No mountains!!! It's bad. So I love your portfolio and envy you your beautiful country.

I think your photo is just fine. I got the message of the lady "waiting" just as it is. It's especially powerful because there is so much background to it. It's not a close up of the woman but a "capture" of her whole life. If I hadn't had the background, the steps, the door, maybe I wouldn't have had an "insight" into her life. I think that's what this image is about. A peek a this woman's life without intruding in on her. Do you understand?

I love this image.

Hassan, this shows me another side of your photographic skills. Very impressive! This is so effective, so very well done. It's like a whole story in a single picture. It makes me long to visit Italy with my cameras... I am always excited when I see the "new photos posted by friends" notice, as it means I can expect to see another of your beautiful photographs.

Beautiful. This image is so full emotive, it makes me want to sit by her and ask her to tell all about her life. Can you imagine her ever being young and vibrant; maybe waiting for her gentleman caller years ago at those very steps? I can. All great photographs make the viewers come up with their own little stories, this one is one of the great ones. What a joy.

Excellent candid. I agree with the others about the frame. I would use one of the lighter earth tones from the image.

Karen Siebert   {K:12076} 10/23/2003
Excellent image Hassan. Great tones, nice even lighting. Really nice angle, the steps and angle of view give this image a great depth.

The frame is a bit too bold and black for the image. But that is just my opinion.

Regards, Karen
