the center of interest is in focus. he is just moving so fast, and the shutter speed wasn't fast enough. and he ended up riding away.

wow elijah, what a moment. how was the next picture? where did this boy end up?
this looks like a very good street picture with only the automatic looking the wrong way to sharpen the background instead of the centre of interest.
