The Island of Hawaii where I live is sometimes called the Orchid Isle. Almost every day I see an orchid I have never seen before. (I am a professional gardener.)Some orchids are so strangely beautiful it seems they must have come to Earth from another planet!

Aloha Charlie, Thanks for your comments. Just to let you know, I didn't use an overlay at all on this image. Rather, it was photographed on silk. No manipulation at all on this one.
uldra, thank you for yet another of your wonderful tropical flowers. this version with the overlay of red/purple looks a little too sweet and superficial to me. i should mention that am not a friend of manipulation in photography if it is not classified as a seperate form. th picture of the orchid as such surely is a great one! regards charlie.f.kohn@sixpence-pictures.com // madrid
