I think its a very nice photo well composed and a great moment captured. In my own opinion though I believe that journalistic photos such as this should be left it either all color or plain black and white. The blue in the flag does bring out the significance of the flag, but I think it takes away from the photo a little. Also the shoulder in the foreground is a little distracting, I suppose thats one of those things that just happen, you did a wonderful job captureing this image any how. The thing I would do if I were going to keep the desaturation of everything but the flag would be to try to desaturate the blue that crept up the shoulder in the foreground. Its a very dramatic and saddening photo that is well composed and over all well done. Regards, Morgan

The focus draws attention to the main subject ... the out-of-focus background people add to the overall sadness of the moment ... IMO, I don't think they are distracting at all. At any rate, a very powerful photo. BTW, excellent color decisions.

I like the selective color on the flag, this works really well. I was wondering what more you could have done with the background - I really like the whole photo but thought the out of focus people was just a tad distracting - this really does rate well on the emotional appeal! Well done.
