This is not photoshop. Orton technique (named after the guy who perfected it) consists of taking two photos of the same subject and sandwiching them together. Need to use slide film and tripod of course. One image is over exposed by 2 stops and in sharp focus. (The skeleton of the image). The other image is over exposed by 1 stop and blurred out of focus. The two images are then sandwiched together. It really pops out the colour. Takes a bit of practice. I usually shoot the sharp image at least at f16 and the blurred image I open up to f4.
