About Hoover Dam, near lasvegas. Its an engeneering marvel taming the wild Colorado. Took about 5 years to complete and about 5000 men died at work! Apparently they had to divert the whole colorado through a tunnel first, to build the dam ! . I must say for such a great engineering feat - the dam itself looks rather small and unimpressive.
