Did the thieves and jailors and killers of that regime truly fall, or did they just step into the shadows to put on a new mask and laugh in the face of justice? Some of the ideals of that revolution have turned out to be so naive... Nevertheless, life was finally allowed to begin in those days. I never want to go back.

Ah, yes -- you've brought it to life beautifully. I think your framing is perfect -- but then again, my head is quite square ;)

A lovely tribute to the human spirit.

die zahl erinnert mich an den moment,
in dem die grenze zwischen d-ost und d-west
gefallen war. war ein ein moment von gröesse

first of all: great statue-photo! unusual and very strong. b&w does goed here.

second of all: thanx for the comment on my birdbikephoto. it's always difficult to choose a category to put your works in. the decisive category maybe wasn't that well chosen. what do you suggest? then i can put it at it's place. ;-)

grtz...

maybe, you're right
but the original is composed vertically, the hands being rather small (more or less natural size) put in the lower part of a 3 meter niche
...
so somehow it should give the impression of much free(dom) space above (in the air)
:
my picture is a willful distortion of the real monument
:(

Interesting and unusual monument. good shot. I would have cropped it closer at the top. Feel there is too much space above.
