Is that the cornucopia vase? (hope it is written in English like that) Out of it pour all the riches, in this case, tasty grapes. Very tasteful composition and presentation.

Judy, as usual your composition is wonderful, and your lighting remarkable. There does seem to be some toning missing though, it may be from the camera, or some work you did in PS. Not trying to nit-pick, but to be constructive with your beautiful work, one has to be.... Keep up the good work.

well, it's about time you traded your scanner for a camera and became a "real photographer." :-) Your excellent graphical sense transfers nicely to "film." This is a great still life. It looks like you have created a painted effect in PS. It works. The light falls over the grapes and the pitcher (urn?) as though it were liquid. Interesting.

Very nice entry, Judy! As in a good painting, there's something to see in your "Still Life" almost everywhere you look! And a 3rd dimension, compared to your Visioneer! Good job!

Hello Judy:

From folds to tumbling grapes, this still life has been artifully arranged. There seems to be some pixel blending that perhaps is the Cp2500, but could also be PS dry brush or water color. In any event, the end result is a subtle painterly feel that is just right for this scene.

I think you'll love with the 5700 from first blush. When I'm too lazy to drag around a full SLR kit, which is most of the time, the 5700 is what I take. There's just one thing about this little pup I've learned the hard way, which is that it's incredibly easy to accidentally activate the image quality button -- so it pays to check the resolution setting every time you power the camera up to be sure you haven't inadertently reset it to BASIC or NORMAL.

Best,
Jim
