About This is a penquill shell. They are sea creatures which live in the gulf and become "home" to many hitchhiking barnacles and other things which make the penquill not so attractive. However, under all this "debris" is found Mother of Pearl, the bits of irredescent colors you see in the photo.

Nice capture. The quality is poor. Would have been great if it was.

Hi Joann,

Interesting image and interesting title! As a pastor with a firm faith I'm bound to say that if you were able to crack open the heart of God, love would pour out! Genuine, deep, all-embracing love!!

Thanks for your comment re. Takamines. I'm fortunate to own two ~ the black one in the picture and a natural wood one. I use them in the music group at church and various other settings. Great sound!!

I hope ypu soon get the opportunity to upgrade your digital as your pictures show a lot of promise and you are obviously honing your Photoshop skills.

Kind regards, Chris.

Has an abstract feel to it...I viewed it for a 30 or 40 seconds before reading the 'about'...Did not pick up that it was a shell until I read your comments... almost has a foil look to it. Intresting image. regards, Bill

Kita-
well you are certainly more advanced at photoshop than I -
I have SOOO much to learn!
With this photo, as with most of mine, i usually auto level and contrast and then adjust the saturation just a bit to make up for the low line digital camera I have. It doesn't even have a screen to view the photos- you have to download first.( On this particular image I also used the dust and scratches and despeckle filters.)
Sometimes it's discouraging, as it seems like "the best camera wins" most of the time. Maybe someday I will own a decent digital and feel differently. In the meantime, I'm learning LOTS!
Thanks for explaining your photo process. Perhaps one day I will understand what all you did. I get the invert and hue changes- but the rest is all Greek to me!

loyce - thanks for taking the time to post your comment. Much appreciated.

a little gem. Did you use a filter, like cross hatch or something? or is it simply too compressed? whichever, i like it. My one for Fabio(thanx for comment) I achieved by inverting the original pic, then changing the hue in photoshop, then using the rendering lights filter on the embosing mode and thats, it!!!

I like the composition, Joann. The photo is a bit oversharpened and contrasty. This looks like the Tampa Bay beaches.
