Yes, it doesn't quite work for me either. I think some interesting effects have been used but I'm not so sure they are best suited to this picture. I'm sorry, it's quite possibly just my personal opinion and, if you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

Sorry, I don't like it. It doesn't look like a photo at all - not just that it doesn't look like a photo of a landscape, but the effects look accidental instead of controlled.
