Interesting concept here. You should have duplicated the layer and then applied the mystical light filter. Then you could have used your eraser and cleaned up around that boat. It looks like it is smoking or something to me.
You might have achieved a more subtle look by using the fade command just a bit prior to using the eraser. The way it looks to me now, you just applied the mystical light and posted this one.
Pretty creative nonetheless...just needs a little more editing.

I love this, it is wonderful!!
This would be good in the "Alone" photo project.
I love the sparkle effect on the one section of water.
