Lathyrus odoratus (sweet pea), because of it's fragile petals, scent and beautiful colors. :)

This is absolutely wonderful, Marion - light on dark, dark on light in perfect balance (as your title says!) I like that the flowers remain delicately lit despite the bright light falling upon them. Excellent!

The comp between light and shadow is well seen. - The reality hides in the darkness (a spot of glowing white) while the shadow chooses to reveal itself in the light.
