Nice colour and composition. Love most of your shoot and would say most of them are 6/7. Well done!

Thanks Becky for the wonderful comment. Back when I posted this one I had no PS and really knew nothing of color casts, sharpening, ect. I did see the litter when shooting and took a few with it in the photo and some without, just for a little different 'commentary'. I think you are the first to notice. Good eye! Thanks again.

I really like the colours in this photo too, especially the purple tint to the sky. However, I feel the land portion of this shot - particularly the road - is a bit too blue/magenta where it should be more blue/grey. I admit the road could be reflecting the sky, but that usually happens when the road is wet and the light is low.
This is a simple, yet strong image. It's perfectly composed and I really like the contrast between the ruler straight line of the road and the curves in the field to the right. I admire your unique point of view here, shooting equal parts road, shoulder and ditch. Such a wonderful result!
Hope you don't mind, but for experimentation's sake, I tweaked this photo in PS to remove some of the land purple (I also sharpened it a bit and removed what I felt was a distracting piece of litter in the foreground). :)

This is a fabulous shot, Robert (goes straight to my favourites)! Colours divided up by discreet natural borders and a great composition. Brilliant!

Mmmmmm.... perfect shot. You've created both a lovely landscape and a lovely abstract! Looks great from a distance too! I've got my Velvia film sitting in my fridge, awaiting it's inaugural use in Montana in 4 weeks. This has got me excited about using it for the first time with my Nikon SLR!

Thanks everyone for the comments. Sue, to answer your questions; Velvia 50 yes, polarizer yes, lens distortion not sure. It may be a result of the perspective I shot this from ( about 16" above road level ) and the way the road bed is built up above the surrounding terrain. Nothing this flat here in East Tennessee to test my lens with but I will be going to the beach in a few weeks. We'll see how the lens handles an ocean horizon.

Nicely done here, Robert! Beautiful application of Velvia (I'm assuming V-50, since the Velvia 100 is only just 'arrived'). The color saturation is gorgeous. The convergence of the road is priceless. They sure do make 'em flat in that Mississippi ancient flood plain, don't they? :-)
I'm also assuming the curve of the horizon is from a slight lens distortion or was that the lay of the land where you took this picture? I also wished to ask if you were using a polarizing filter. I'm guessing 'yes' from the color variation of the sky. It works very nicely here. I like it! Great job.
