Those brown pigeons are called KAPLAN (means Tiger ) the ones who are capable to somersault while flying are very valuable..The may cost up to 50 thousand dollars. In south eastern part they even put on them the jewellery.(attached picture) There are some SPECIAL races they were developed in the Ottoman Palaces called HUNKARI (means that Sultans pigeons ) sorry :)) just wanted to give more info..

So you understood already that the peageons have very special place in Turkish Life style.. In the mosques garens there are always encarved shelters for them Lots of people are feeding them and there are CONTESTS as well. This picture is so nicely taken.. regards
