About
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world refrain from eating and drinking from dawn until sunset. It is the time for drawing oneself nearer to God, time to appreciate all God's bounty, empathy, and sharing the goodness in this world for provision in the hereafter. Especially dear to Muslims, Ramadan is a time to reach out and be closer to those who matter most. Family. Countless happy and warm memories of suhurs (early, pre-dawn meal) together with loved ones are woven in children's hearts. More unforgettable are those peace and tranquil feeling upon hearing the words of Ar-Rahmaan being recited after the Fajr (dawn) prayer. Thankfully, my 8 year old daughter is not immune to the effect, all praise be to God, as she sailed back into slumber on her mother's recital of the holy words. May God's Blessing and Mercy be upon us all in this blessed month.
