Hi Jim, I'm enjoying your images of this old place and I think I understand what you are saying in your about. "and yet I stop nearly every week to walk around" Your attraction to the area shows in your images. There are certain places and objects I feel the same way about. When I first got interested in photography, one of my first attempts at a portfolio shot for a class presentation was of some old abandoned trucks and a farm house. Still almost forty years later, I still go back to the spot and shoot again. The house is no longer there, but the old trucks remain.
