I still use photoshop for almost all of my work. I have the Silver Efex plugin for black and white. Just have not had money to add Capture to my edit programs, and have become pretty comfortable in my work flow with photoshop. I just replaced my computer after losing the mother board. Found another Apple G5 on ebay and just dropped hard drives, extra memory and my old graphic card into the new used one. Have 6GB memory and a 256mb video card for dual monitors. It is a 2.0ghz dual processor. Works great!!
Be well my friend, Bop

OK, now i understand. Once i was a betatester for photoacute and it required DNG as input. I liked the concept of DNG but since I use DXO 6.0 now and Capture NX 2 I just require teh Nikon Nef format.

DXO is nice, it corrects the flaws of my sigma DC 18-200 and often i get significant improvement using it. I use it to develop the raw NEF and the DXO output Tiff goes to Capture NX. Hardly use photoshop now.

Be well Bop !

Hi Harry, glad you liked this sweet little face!!
The DNG converter is used for raw images. My 40D is not recognized in my photoshop when I shoot raw. I convert to the DNG and am then able to work in the RAW image tool palette. The DNG is a digital negative that will not degrade like jpeg. It retains all info every time it is used. I shoot weddings and portraits in Raw and have found the DNG user friendly, just takes some time to convert images. Hope this helps. I am not a tech expert yet!!
be well, stan
