I thought that land has been ploughed for a cultivation. the green edges mislead me and it was my mistake!

I don't think the lack of trees or shrubs is from development but just the harsh climate and terrain. Hence why when CA has summer fires there is nothing left to prevent landslides during heavy rains. But too many places in CA people built in places they should never have. I have a another picture I posted where homes were sliding into the ocean and that is sad.
