Mary, I'm not sure if this is a general question or directed to me personal...I don't know the answer...but my personal experience is that there almost always is....although sometimes so light it's hardly visible/noticeable. :-)

I would guess that what John sees the light and how it sometimes strikes the petals of certain flowers - it is odd - it is a quite striking feature of iris's.
In the previous shadow photo there was a balanced dialogue between flower and shadow - this one the emphasis appears to be on the shadow more than on the flower -
I wonder, are things of true beauty always full of shadows?

Silently evocative...a beauty in the stillness of the shadow and light.

A beautiful flower dancing with (and kissing?) its shadow. The flower petals look a little noisy, for some reason. Do they really have a fine white border? Nice job overall! Did you see my "Table Rose?"
