About	Marble and Mars I have this clay marble. I don’t know where I got it. I found it lying about the Jimmy Museum last night. Took a pic of it, I did. I believe it was given to me by my grandfather. Set it on a bit of paper and took a pic. Reminded me of Mars. I started thinking, small toy marble, distant planet Mars. Interesting how I can easily connect the two. One bit of stuff from childhood. One bit of stuff from distant world wondering. And what made me sit up in my chair was the realization that the two objects, one so small and personal and the other so large and distant, can never be travelled. They are out of reach…. Never to be experienced at my current or future age.

In Greek mythology, Hades and his brothers Zeus and Poseidon defeated the Titans and claimed rulership over the universe ruling the underworld, air, and sea, respectively; the solid earth, long the province of Gaia, was available to all three concurrently. Because of his association with the underworld, Hades is often interpreted by moderns as the Grim Reaper, even though he was not.
