Feast of the Holy Spirit The Feast of the Divine in São Luís do Paraitinga always begins on a Friday, with a novena, held in the parish church. The novena continues with prayers and masses, always held to 19 hours. Before the prayers the flags are carried in procession to the Empire the mother church. The processions are accompanied by band music, the Folia of the Divine and by dozens of people take flags as a sign of devotion and promises of payment by result achieved. During the days of the novena, the party known as profane (outside the enclosure and the area of the church), focuses on the festival's house, where the gifts are and where most of the residents of the city (including authorities and politicians) will lunch the "food of the Divine." The day's main festival is known as Dia Grande The city is awakened around 6 hours with the touch of dawn, the band's music and the Batuque Congo. The masses and folkloric presentations alternate. Congadas, moçambiques, pau-de-cebo,the couple bonecões of big dools João Paulino e Maria Angu, cavalhada,distribution of sweets to the people,games for children, such as egg races and race bag.One of the highlights is the distribution of the "Afogado". To prepare you are killed 15 to 20 cows, distributed in the form of food for the people. The last act of the party paralitúrgico is the Procession of the Divine.
