Who is the statue?
Both are stopped..
Just an observation technique.
The positioning of hands and face are great but the pages of the book are not with the details and looks white stoned.

Ania,the second one is more finer,in the regard that it is more directed,more performed,and the statue is a real engaged in the scene,though it is not perfect,the pages of the book have totally blown highlights,the nose ,hand,and the forehead of the girl have suffered too,
so this one in contrast needs more direction,and as you see the book have veiled half the girl face and part of the statue face,and he does not seems to look at the book,he looks to the girl hair or so,try change the perspective,engage the statue more in the scene,like for instance let the girl stand beside the statue ,put her arm around his neck and let them both read,
