Thank you for your comment and observation.
I got this and other hummingbird shots in very bussy backgrounds, so the best option for that environment (rainforest- understory) is to use artificial backgrounds.

Hi Shaz,
I got this and most of my other hummingbirds shots thanks to professional photographer Greg Basco.
We used artificial backgrounds.
Sometimes you get lucky and you get backgrounds like this:
