About I am pretty forgiving when it comes to historical presentations. I do not hold the exhibiters to the same standards I hold myself to. (I know... a prepositional ending to that last sentence...) I can forgive small details... but I canna forgive great big obvious ones. Take those baseball hats for instance. No self-respecting hat-wearer would ever be caught in public with a hat perfectly clean and holding form as if it were just snatched from a mailing box. The clothes can be clean, neat and pressed... but if a person regularly wears a hat... the hat, by definition and use, is battered and dirty and holding loud the stains of workman pride. I cringe when I see hats such as these... if one wears a hat... then the hat is well and justly worn. I need to go back and teach these folks what to do to make the hats more believable. Crumpled, ragged... dirty and honest... now that's a hat...

Pristine and perfect does not belong in an exhibit... An if I haven't said on your recent posts.. love the squiggly shadowy water and such stuff... just haven't had the drive to post an actual comment. Unless of course, it is a comment on a comment on one of MY pics... 'cause, after all... the world does revolve around me... doesn't it????????

Well said, even a boring old model railway enthusiast would know to drizzle tea on anything new.
It's usually the fresh clothes that stand out like dogs balls on exhibits like this.

Yes... the next time I visit I am going to jump over the railings and slap dirty and well-worn hats on these pretend folks. And maybe toss a few underarm sweat stains on the shirts....

Jim,

I learned people wanna see misery and dirt, just as long it is neat and clean.
