About The Serengeti plains serves as the house of almost 3 million herbivores, where the number of predators is about 3000. With this very healthy ratio of predator to prey, the animals maintain an excellent ecological balance.

yes indeed.. as I was telling one of my friends, strangely, I don't feel that bad.. I would feel extremely bitter if I had lost, like.. 60% of my stuff.. that would leave me with somethings workable and others completely unusable.. that WOULD make me mad ! .. but now, I have a strange feeling of serenity.. it's like going back to the drawing board and starting all over..

but anyway, I will buy an external hdd and back up..

Ahh ok it was a software problem it sounds like, not a physical degradation of the actual Hard Drive. Glad you got your stuff back...most of it at least. It is funny how a situation like this shows us how attached we get to things as soon as we are born. Some of us have homes full of stuff. Then there is the ethereal stuff like digital images so fugitive and fragile, made up of little computerized digits on some abstract Hard drive...and yet there is huge attachment. I know I would freak out if I lost mine. That is one of the reasons I post as much as possible a poor mans back up.

Hey Tim !

Thanks for the tip ! I actually had a crash AND a formatted hard disk. Anyway, I bought a software that recovered almost 80% of my photos. Actually I had been very casual and loose in my approach.. my machine had some spyware for some time.. I was neglecting it.. it's learning in a hard way.

But I will remember your tip for next time :):):)
cheers !
Avi

Hi Avi,
I hear your HD crashed....You might still get your stuff off. I have had lots of HD failures and have gotten my stuff off by putting the HD in the freezer to cool it off. Once it is cooled down quickly plug it back into a running desktop and run the failed hard drive as a slave. If the system recognizes it start pulling your stuff off. I also pack cold packs around the failed HD to keep it cool while you are pulling photos off. Why does this work ...no clue...it just seems to. There are other options if this does not work.

good...bachale...eto heavy critic likhe nijei ghabre gechhilam :-D
but tomar katha ta pore ektai jinis bolbo. unless the viewer finds exactly what the photographer is showing, a photo is not successful. tai na?

Dear Ed, the top part is not sky, but a gradual slope of a nearby hill, and what looks like noise are actually blurred vegetation. I wanted to show you the color version, but can't, since my hard disk crashed tonite.

I lost all my pictures.

I feel your complete understanding goal and attitude towards to it will succeed.. no doubt!!! I’m not to blame any one we all’re artists but only few we going to make a difference so that’s why I see politics are the most important of endorsement

Excellent mood to this one. Love the tonal treatment and the subtle vignetting.

What an amazing experience you must have had. I'm green with envy :)

You got the spirit of it :), excellent mood indeed, a bit dark on the animal but other wise I do prefer your way of presentation, also the way you framed!!

Soumya, ami heavy criticism khubi pochhondo kori, so never be in doubt when criticizing any of my photos. I may not agree with you (or others) on certain points, because the viewer is often expecting something from a shot which might be conceived a lot differently by the photographer. But the agreement/disagreement is all part of healthy criticism. And I love it ! :)

A lovely moody atmospherical shot in tantalising monochromatic tones my dear Avi. What an adventure you had in Tanzania and what a treasure trove of photography. Well done to you my dear friend. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

The lower half of the shot is great Avi, but I find the noisy sky overly distracting.

All the best,
