Thanks AJ! The place is sublime....hundreds of acres and areas, sometimes quite distant from one another, all arranged according to a theme. A photographer's delight for sure. (And yes, there'll be more!)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Great to see you here again, Doyle. I hope there'll be many more from you...

Two very contrasting images from the Japanese and Chinese gardens, the differences further emphasised by your choice of presentation. The colours here are strong, especially that rich green in the water and the hints of orange and yellow in the leaves. The bridge (with its reflection) and the little house behind focus the attention perfectly.

Ah Ray, Mate, it is SO good to see some of the old crowd is still about. My best (as you know) to you, your brother and your family.

This was SUCH a lovely place to visit. And that keen eye of yours still has that edge to it. I thought that after the resize the people would be nearly invisible. The three to the right of the bridge might be more visible than the two talking under the roof...but all are difficult to see. Indeed, it is a large bridge. :)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Hi Doyle, it's great to see you in here again. I do so miss your posts and seeing your lovely comments in our mutual friends portfolios. Thank you by the way for all your recent visits, you are a true friend. I am a bit behind just now as Ian's condition is worsening and I feel the strong need to giove him as much attention as I can. Enough of this.

I love this charming landscape study with it's pastel tones and excellent rippling reflection. I can just make out some people which give me the scale of the bridge and it's setting. On first look you think it is quite small, then you spy the people and find that it is larger than you immagined. Well done to you my dear friend. Be well, be lucky and be happy. Don't stay away quite so long. As always my very best wishes to you and Marnie, I often think of you......Ray

Hi Robin!

I actually took a day of vacation! It was an awesome place. I'll have images for a while. Japanese Garden...Zen Garden...Cactus Garden...Paintings and statues...hundreds of acres...an amazing place.

And I saw you mention rain...so I was just curious. We're about to transition from fire season to mudslide season down here.

Ahhh Douglas! It's been a long time my friend. I see what you mean about the bridge being new, but the problem is that the bridge IS new! Stay tuned though...I have a wooden Japanese Garden bridge that you're going to love going up this week! :)

I love to peruse...slow, steady gait, hands clasped behind the back (until the camera is needed), allowing the sight and sound of Mother Nature's generosity to fill the senses and empty one's head of all the stress life can bring...

...then, WHAM! an hour later life slaps you back to reality.

Very nice my friend, definately fits the category. Good to see you have been out and about, not chained to that desk of yours!

Take care...Robin

BTW...it is snowing, thank you very much.

Aloha Doyle,

Long time no hear! :)) I think this is a very descent image with contrast not being a problem whatsoever. What I do think can be worked on though is making the bridge a little older because it just looks too modern if you know what I mean per the link below but that wasn't your fault either! :))

Best of Regards!

I thought so too...well I will rather spend the money for a photography class than buy a new monitor, Doyle, still have a 15' IBM tube I guess that’s the cause of all the misunderstandings here,
thank you!!!!

Thanks for the comment H L. Since you asked, I'll answer...and "honestly", of course. No, I don't think it's too dark. I wonder about your monitor and it's calibration because, frankly, I don't think it's even close to too dark. Anyway...Always good to hear what others see,eh?

Regards,
