Aaah, I see. It did look to me as a hand held shot but I wanted to ask you first.
So... use your tripod no matter what the lighting concept is. It the best guarantee that your lighting concept will be captured exactly as you intented.

Interesting effect. I guess that the shadows and contrasts needed to be "harder" for a better match to the expression power of the face. Anyway, the direct illumination did good already.
BTW, did you use a tripod or was it "free hand"?

Thanks a lot for a great description once again. Yes, you are right Nick, I tried something different on that perticular photograph. Overhere I didnt use any flashlight, it is a bulb light....Actully I focused my table lamp on the face.

It fits the series of similar portraits that you posted, Indranil, as it still has the same strong sculpturing of a strong face in light ans shadow. But this one seems a bit poorer in definition of details to me. Something seems to be dofferent than on the other ones. BTW, did you use a flashlight?

Ta charao amar Tarkovsky, Bergman, Felini, Godar, Kurosawa, kichu hollywood art etc cinema dekhte khub valo lage. Ai sob great movie gulo theke ami anek kichu sikhechi, jenechi. Bolte paro ami movie freak.
Tomar comments peye khub valo laglo. Amar kichu concept mathai ache, ogulo tule ami definitely post korbo.
