What a sense for details and geometry! The almost "too high" hardness of the many thorns and sharp peaks seems to be in this case the very essence of that natural shape. The rhombic pattern right in the centre of that fruit (or whatever it is) forms something like a "kernel" out of which the rest of the plant gets constructed by simply applying the kernel's inherent mapping to 3D-space. (OK, I just *had* to say that! ;-)) Very nice how the strong light still leaft some place for the form defining shadows that wirk hand in hand with geometry here, as it seems.
Some of those thorns seem to be overexposed, but in such a case I have the feeling that this exactly makes the atmosphere tangible too.
Cheers!
Nick
