Carl,I thank you for saying I have done better.What gets me is why did you not tell me this when you seen i had.For the records the reason I left the site was,just get a look at what gets hundreds of views and dozens of comments.Yours doesnt but in my opinion yours are masses better than what gets views and comments.Ok I havnt made a comment on any of your photos,but I would rather give you praise than a knock down.I did purposly altered this image to get this effect and in my miond I achieved what i set out to do.
I looked into the still life images and I was not impressed by what had beeen put on.Why these sites dont work is if you are the type of guy that will sit and comment on dozens and dozens of photos,you will enevatably get dozens of comments back.In my mind this gives that person a distorted opinion of his or her work.Listen I have looked at your work and it is all good (all of it) but there is loads and loads of photos that get masses and masses more views and comments and in my opinion masses of these images are poor to say the least.

a lot of pictures say nothing to me but would get bored out of my mind commenting on them.I acualy made this picture like this.It was my choice.This way, the way it is dark soft moody.

this doesnt really 'say' anything to me,a little lacklustre,maybe because of the lighting plus it does look out of focus.there seems to be a lot of grain for an iso of 200 too? just my opinion.good try though

I think Wolf might have a point about the light Kevin it does look a bit flat and a bit on the soft side but thats not to say with a little planning it cant be better
