Thanks Joe, I tried some stuff in Raw last weekend. I then lost my photoshop and had to do a clean install.I made the mistake of not burning a disc and lost them all. I did convert some of them to jpeg before it happened. I see what you mean about the options for the shadows and some of the other features. I got lost pretty quickly. Will keep exploring and hopefully be using it to my benefit with time.

Thanks Ania, sometimes the light surrounds you and every where you look it is beauty. This was one of those moments. I shot over 100 images in a couple of hours of sky gazing.

Hi Darren, Glad you liked this one with no mustache.
I do not need amends on 08. I posted it knowing it was less than perfect. I have only been shooting digital a few months. Old film guy and this is all new to me. Thanks for the nice comment and tell your wife I have thick skin.

Hi Stan! My wife informed me that my comment about the "Smile of 08" in somewhat mean and insensitive. I personally got a kick out of it, but now I must make amends! hehe. Hi Julie, our small publishing business is a lesson in marketing in a smaller scale but none the less we are feeling the pain as well. Rest assured there will be no yelling by the time you get to my images. Do not ever feel that you are obligated to comment on any or all. Use your time to your advantage. Thanks Harry, Glad you saw what my wife and I are up to. She is President of Raven Publishing and I am President of Vice! We do make a good couple. She is talented as a writer and is a great humanitarian and child advocate. We strive to keep it simple and reach out in the world to touch people in positive ways. Janet Muirhead Hill Biography
" When Janet Muirhead Hill, grew up on a cattle ranch in the Yampa River Valley in the Colorado Rockies, her greatest love was for horses and children. Her childhood dreams were not to become a writer or publisher, but to own a horse ranch and to have lots of kids. Well, this has been fulfilled satisfactorily in retrospect. She owns three horses and has four children and seven grandchildren. Now she writes for children and connects with them in any way she can. "Kids are much wiser than we are," she says. "They haven’t had as much time to be corrupted with inhibitions and narrow opinions." Her dreams to be a writer came later in life, though the seeds were sown by an older sister who read to her as a child.
Janet began her writing career when her children were small by submitting short stories to magazines and had several published. She didn't get back to writing for publication until many years later, when after a divorce, she had a few more short stories published before turning to novel writing. Her first two novels remain unpublished, waiting for her to find time to revisit them. The third, Miranda and Starlight, began a series of six books, all published within a three year period by her own company, Raven Publishing, which publishes other authors as well. She has published another novel she wrote called, Danny's Dragon. It is about the stages of grief and healing, seen through the eyes of a 10-year-old boy who lost his father in the war.
Her education has included several years at Montana State University in various disciplines, including English writing. She also completed two writing courses, (two years each) from the Children's Institute of Literature. She presently divides her time between publishing, family, and writing, from rural Montana where she lives with her husband, one daughter and her three-year-old grandson.
With her stories for children, Janet hopes to bring her readers joy and adventure as well as a love for reading. She enjoys presenting her books, her experience and knowledge of writing, and encouragement to follow one’s dream to classrooms. (Author visits, seminars, and presentations).

Hi Julie, just got back from an art in the park show in Ennis,Mt. My wife is an author and we were hustling books. Also toook some pictures of artist and their wares. Got some good one I hope.. Am downloading the 1gb card first. Will post some if they are good. Also had a hail storm in the middle of the show. Took some macro of flowers in the planter boxes of the bank next to the park and also some metal sculptures of bear, pack horses and an outfitter down in various metals. Hope ypur weekend is fun as well. What is your real job when you are not wowing us with your photos?

Hi Harry, I did sharpen the edges for drama and other world effect. This was 180 degrees from the sunset. Had a great day and found a $5 monitor to replace my dead Apple. Older 19" IBM CRT. Calibrated this AM and it is looking pretty good. I love the thrift stores. Hope your friend sees some of this, if not send him to my UF pictures and I will keep showing off my Big Sky.
