Hi Joe:
Thank you for your comments. I am really thankfull you gave your honest opinion of this shot. I agree with you about the greenish cast. I didn't notice it until after I already uploaded it and recieved comments.
I had to giggle about the starving artist comment. Kim and I bought this painting along with 2 others outside of a movie theater while waiting for our movie to start.
You know. I really wish this site would go back to the way it was. everyone really got more out of it. To me, if you can not take an honest critique, then you shouldn't be submitting your work to a site that was designed for just such a thing. If you ever critique any of my work and I don't understand how to fix what you are talk about, I hope that you wouldn't mind if I picked your brain to find a way to accomplish what you were talking about.
I am really glad you took the time to comment on my work and will be making my way over to your portfolio and seeing what I can see.
Kind Regards
Sam III

Hi Sam, I totally agree with your feelings regarding what's going on here. Although I often provide constructive critiques, I have to admit that at times I avoid giving real criticism as there are people here at do not welcome negative comments. So here is my honest opinion of your image. :) This an image of a painting, right? Not sure if you are looking for a critique of your image or the painting so I will briefly give you my thoughts on both? The image is OK as it appears to do it's job of enabling us to view a representative copy of your painting without visiting your house which would be nice but not very practical. The greenish cast of the painting is rather unrealistic. It has very formalistic look, like something you would expect to see at a Starving Artist Sale next to the black light Elvis painting.
Regards, Joe

Julie:
4+ years ago this site was filled with people who would leave geniune critiques. Then with the advent of the who more popular than who contest. people started falling by the way side.
Anyhow, I an greatful for the comment you left and will be visiting your portfolio as soon as I hit send.
My kind Regards

You are an artist Sam. I love the textures on the palm trees and the feel of movement in the water, the soft colors of the bushes are beautiful as well. I would put this up at my beach house in Brazil :) My best, Julie.
p.s. on another note, thank you for your sincere comment on Michele's picture. I wish more people did that around here. It would help beginners like myself grown quite a bit.

It's a beautiful mural - woops painting Sam- especially at night I would believe it is hard to tell if it is real or not - great depth, tones, and mood is what I see... an image to stare at like looking out the window like you said .... it doesn't hurt that the palm tree's are my favorite tree either . These are my thoughts - Regards, Michele~

Nicely done - did you capture this as when the sun was coming in through the window? The painting almost glows with the sun shining on it.

No it's not real but rather 'Jurassic Park' in Hawaii, so where are the flying dragons and Menehunes? All kidding aside: Interesting rendition ...
